Holiday Cottages in South Devon. The character holiday cottages detailed on this web site are all situated in the South Hams area of South Devon. |
Our self catering holiday cottages each have a distinctive character and vary from quaint cottages to a family villa. All are very near to the coast, two just yards from the beach at Hope Cove. They all are close to other areas of interest such as the sailing centre of Salcombe, the market town of Kingsbridge and other fine beaches such as Bantham, Bigbury-on-Sea and Thurlestone. |

The South Hams area of Devon. |
This area lies south of Dartmoor between the Tamar and Dart estuaries. Its name comes from the old English word "hamme" meaning an enclosed or sheltered place. It is sheltered by the hills of Dartmoor and because of its southerly aspect it enjoys one of the mildest climates in mainland Britain. It is a very rural area with quaint hamlets and villages, medieval market towns and ancient fishing ports. It has much to offer holidaymakers: the many sheltered estuaries offer excellent sailing; there are breathtaking coastal paths and many national trust areas; plenty of fine safe beaches and other activities for families such as steam train rides and boat trips. |
